In each classroom, children have access to a worry box. A “Worry Box” is a place to store away feelings that may overwhelm a child. When worrying thoughts, frustration or overwhelming feelings strike, the child can write them down on a piece of paper and put them into their worry box. They allow a child to express their feelings and ask for help. The worry boxes are regularly checked by staff. You may wish to use a worry box at home and could make one with your child. When a child is feeling overwhelmed, anxious or if they struggle to focus, using a worry box can help to free their mind, knowing that their worry will be dealt with later.
