Phonics/Fresh Start
Children in year 1 and 2 who have been identified as needing extra support with their reading receive daily 1:1 phonics intervention for around 10 minutes. Children from year 3-6 receive daily fresh start interventions. Both involve children practising targeted sounds which they find challenging with explicit teaching and modelling from an adult.
